PTSD and Trauma
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after someone experiences or witnesses a traumatic event, like an accident, assault, or war. People with PTSD may have flashbacks, nightmares, or intrusive memories of the event, feel constantly on edge, and avoid situations that remind them of the trauma. These symptoms can interfere with daily life and relationships. .
PTSD is one of the mental illnesses that respond best to psychotherapy. There are three main forms of treatment that we may utilize to treat PTSD and all three are forms of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. These forms of therapy are called: Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Written Exposure Therapy (WET). We will find out which one is best suited for your needs.
